A beautifully made English Regency period extending card table, the mechanism stamped, in best mahogany inlaid with ebony Greek key to the tops & legs. When the top unfolds, both rear legs pivot open at the same time, forming a square table. The inside edges of the legs also inlaid. The steel mechanism stamped  ‘Wilkinson Patent Moorfields  London’.

William Wilkinson of Ludgate Hill, London, was the inventor of patent metamorphic furniture , active from 1803 – 1820. Their work was of the highest quality & led style in the Regency period.
