A rare Tasmanian Colonial period native timber exhibition table Hobart c. 1850. Veneered with textbook samples of Huon pine, musk and casuarina, strung with native honeysuckle, on an elegant turned blackwood column and cedar base. Original polish, good colour & condition.
Attributed reasonably to the O’Brians Bridge marquetry box maker with the use of honeysuckle stringing and chevron banding.
