A rare nineteenth century reverse painting on glass (verre eglomise), of a cat stealing the cook’s dinner, whilst she snoozes, a parrot & terrier alerting her, with the plate crashing to the floor, the spoon already there. Original Kauri pine ‘Oxford’ frame. c 1880.
