A good & useful example of a campaign chest, with secretaire. Rare in this condition. Straits Chinese c 1845.
Brass bound, in two parts for travel. The fitted secretaire interior and top in Persian lilac wood, the drawer fronts and chest sides figured Chinese elm, the secondary timber camphor. The drawer fronts nicely strung in baffalo horn. Original feet, fine fretted handles, to drawers & ends. Good original condition / finish.
