A genuinely rare, small English made campaign writing desk, for travel on board a ship, or for those constantly on the move. Made entirely of mahogany.  The top with original black embossed leather, and folding timber gallery that fits in the drawer, and locates in the top via brass & steel pins.  The two pedestals fitted to each pedestal with the original gilt brass handles, secured to the top via turnbuckles. The drawers lined in mahogany. On the original removeable  feet, with good colour & patina. Identical to examples made by The Army & Navy Stores, London. A stylish desk in wonderful original state, of a very handy small size. 82cm H (top of gallery) 76cm top of desk, x 102cm W x 55cm D.
