Tasmanian rice shell and marineer shell necklace by Lola Greeno (1946 – artist / maker). Lola  is the living link with Tasmanian first peoples’ making of shell necklaces, on Flinders Island. She is the leading & most highly skilled artist in the medium, actively teaching other Flinders women in the ancient preparation and threading art. Her work is in the Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery, Australian National Gallery, QAGOMA and Powerhouse Museum, Sydney. Length 2′.
