The Earl of Lauderdale / Maitland family Regency period old Sheffield plate serving tray, with cast applied silver clam shell & acanthus borders, inset silver panel for the engraved shield, in mint original condition, wonderful quality (& enormous!) The crest is for the Earl of Lauderdale: the engraved latin motto for the Maitland family, Scottish peers: ‘With Prudence and Courage’, apt for now.

A wonderfully confident late Regency / George IV period sofa in Greek Revival mode. The solid Brazillian rosewood back centred by an anthemion & scrolling acanthus leaves, also to the polished overscrolled arms and feet.
The feet concealing original brass patent revolving casters.
Formerly part of the furnishings of Elizabeth Bay House, Sydney N.S.W (see final image).
Upholstered in John Soane ‘patent yellow’ silk moreen, with Brunswig & Fils gimp, duck down bolsters by Elizabeth Bay House Museum.

A lovely English Regency Zebrawod (calamander), ebony and ormolu mounted Grecian writing cabinet / bookcase. The interior lined in West Indian satinwood & ebony, with original ormolu inkwells & keys,all on concealed revolving casters.
Terrific original colour & finish.

A juicy & rare English Regency Davenport terracotta Bacchanalian wine cooler – rare & in essentially mint condition (a few tiny flea bites consistent with the subject)
Of joyful plump form, sensuously modelled, with a grinning Roman faun admidst fruiting vines. The terracotta body is porous, effective damp in a breeze to keep your champagne cool on a hot day on the loggia or verandah!
Impressed mark & anchor to base.
