A rare late 17th century Wunderkammer – a magnificent cabinet, for collections of exotic and rare objects. Itself, conceived as a magnificent and rare object, veneered in exotic Pacific red tortoiseshell, ebony, walnut and gilt copper repousse.
A fine English Regency period small table, well fitted with a pair of slim drawers to one end & a deep drawer to the other, the fronts with dummy drawers. Well crossbanded & inlaid, the fine reeded legs & idiosyncratic form relate closely to examples designed by Gillows of Lancaster.
