A magnificent pair of Irish George III period cut glass vases and covers in neo-classical taste, beautifully cut with hobnail and diamond points and of terrific colour. These vases were typically supplied ensuite with chandeliers with similar vase shaped shafts for drawing and dining rooms, for placing on marble mantelpieces. They express the fragility and coherent taste of the age .
A beautiful quality, best mahogany library bookcase in mint condition. With fine ‘Gothick’ glazed doors with original glass, frieze drawer and cupboards below, one fitted with pigeon holes. Identical to published examples by Gillows of Lancaster and London. With well panelled pilasters to the edges and mitred corners to all doors.
A fine quality and beautifully patinated English George III period best mahogany chest of drawers with original handles, well shaped ogee form bracket feet and brushing slide set within the top. The corners finely moulded and the whole in beautiful original condition.
A magnificent pair of French Empire period bronze and gilt bronze three light candelabra. The bases after Greco – Roman paw footed models, with reeded shafts, lotus leaf castings to sconces and flowering honeysuckle ornaments.
A superb quality and rare English George III period lapidary turned vase of exceptionally beautiful pieces of Derbyshire fluorspar (Blue John). Mounted with panels of black Welsh slate, Italian white pentallic marble and gilt bronze. The mounts and conception of form and parts strongly suggest the work of Matthew Boulton of Birmingham.
A fine quality and beautifully patinated Pembroke table, on West Indian satinwood crossbanded with rosewood. The polychrome decoration original, of a basket of decaying fruit & flowers in the manner of Dutch old masters of the 17th century.

A rare Tasmanian Colonial period native timber exhibition table Hobart c. 1850. Veneered with textbook samples of Huon pine, musk and casuarina, strung with native honeysuckle, on an elegant turned blackwood column and cedar base. Original polish, good colour & condition.
