George R McLean was a Launceston plumber & boiler maker, who worked at 102 George St from 1921 to 1930. In the early 1910s Geo R. McLean imported the then ‘new technology’ of hot water systems into Tasmania. The santitary benefits lead to installations of boiler systems in hospitals in Hobart, Launceston, Wynyard and Scottsdale.
