A Tasmanian made tin & marble medical cabinet, with the maker’s plaque of Geo. R McLean of Launceston. Terrific size, well made,  with drawer, thumb spring catch door & original white Italian marble top. Perfect as a chic bedside or lamp table.

George R McLean was  a Launceston plumber & boiler maker, who worked at 102 George St from 1921 to 1930. In the early 1910s  Geo R. McLean imported the then ‘new technology’ of hot water systems into Tasmania. The santitary benefits lead to installations of boiler systems in hospitals in Hobart, Launceston, Wynyard and Scottsdale. The current showroom at 24  Earl Street has been used by the McLean family since 1930. The company still trading in the same family as McLean Healthcare at the same address. 77cm Hx 64cmW x 38cmD
