A fine, large example of an early Victorian period silhouette, of a child with ostritch feathers in her hair, pulling her hobby horse. Signed l.r by Edgar Adolphe (1808-1890 France / Dublin). Adolphe was one of the leading 19th century silhouette artists, working from the Brighton pier. In the original Brazillian rosewood veneered frame & glass. Heightened in bronze, gilt & blue ink.
