One of a series of bronze plaques of classical Gods in seasonal labour by Hans Jamnitzer II, a leading Renaissance medallist and bronze sculptor, of a family of bronze sculptors. Employing a workshop, whose works were of the highest quality, incorporating considerable depth of field, sensitivity to nature and freshness. They are lost wax cast. This would have once formed part of a ‘cabinet of medals’, and may have been mounted on such a cabinet. Good rich, dark natural patina, losses to edges, wax & oil based paint remains verso. 125mm dia.
