Made in an Indian run workshop for the UK / European market of Straits Chinese timbers. The original feet unscrew, the top drawer fitted as a writing desk, with original wool felt, key to inner door, & nice old paperwork / ephemera inside c1860.

About as original an example as could survive & rare in this virtually untouched condition. The drawers have dust liners between & are finely dovetailed, the edges scribed with a bead for strength.
