An original AG Mobelfabrik Horgen Glarus, Savoy table, Swiss c1932 in oak & cast iron. This table specified by architect Le Courbusier, as ideal work / dining tables for his model housing units in Nice, France – l Unites d’habitation.
It is comfortable, strong & flat packs.
Le Courbusier exhibited furniture made by Horgen Glarus in his “Pavillion de l’Esprit Nouveau” at the Exposition internationale des Arts Decoratifs in Paris, as exemplars of functional modernity.

A well proportioned example of an officer’s brass bound two part teak campaign chest. Made in India, with fine English made cut brass handles, rosewood escutcheons, for the inter-Colonial market. A wonderful example, in Tasmania since the 19th century, of a two part campaign chest, with elegant cut back handles, cross-banded edge to the jointed top, with original iron lug handles, turned feet and terrific colour and patination.

An elegant & comfortable mahogany library ‘bergere’ chair, with deep ‘Grecian’ overscrolled back, fully hand caned, with scrolled arms & turned forelegs. Great colour. The squab cushion upholstered in Pierre Frey 1820s pattern linen. The chair in excellent original condition. UK c 1830
A rare & finely turned English walnut candlestand. The octagonal top with oyster cut veneered top & quartered mouldings to the edges. The shaft with fine baluster turning of ‘inverted cup & trumpet’ form on three small columns, supported on cabriole legs ending in pad feet. Original finish & excellent patina. From c1680 – 1740 English timber hand lathe turning achieved an artistic & technical height not matched. This is a perfect example of period & type. It originally would have been one of a pair, supporting candlesticks. UK c1720. Ht 109cm
A rare Anglo Cantonese two part, brass bound campaign chest, with original brass inlaid lock board covers. Made of highly figured camphor, & of the highest Chinese cabinet making quality, the back is also polished and mitred, the board covers inlaid with brass fleur- de- lys. Original turned removeable feet, lacquer to brass inset flush handles, substantial carrying handles & keys. Straits Chinese, c 1840. 111cm H x 92cm.W x 47cm.D
A large & good quality pair of Old Sheffield plate magnum wine coasters. The borders of anthemions, the body worked up as grapevines & leaves, with turned timber disc bases, and felt under. With cross hatched stamp to underside of rims for specialist old Sheffied plate makers, T&J Creswick, 1811. In excellent original condition – lightly bled, original finish to timber, remains of old British Antique Dealer’s Association label. Ht 60mm x 170mm
