A fine & rare English Regency period cast bronze inkstand in the of a Grecian sarcophagus, with winged masks to the frieze,oak & pine nut band, paw feet black Derbyshire slate base. From the celebrated Weeks Museum of Mechanical Curiousities, established by Thomas Weeks from 1797 until his death in 1834. It was a shop and residence, selling luxury goods, mechanical contrivances and a fashionable spot to be seen. This inkstand to a design by Thomas Hope published in 1810, probably made by bronze caster William Bullock & retailed by Weeks.
