A magnificent English Regency period sterling silver London made coffee pot on original stand, by William Edwards of London, 1815.
The stand with cast lion paw feet and richly gadrooned borders with clam shells and acanthus. The coffee pot with ribbed body and similarly cast rim. Mint original condition.
Made in 1815, the year of England’s Victory over Napoleon at Waterloo, for drinking the French preferred drink, coffee.
Other members of the family were to migrate to Australia in 1857, producing some of the finest examples of gold & silversmithing Australiana of the 19th century.
