A rare pair of George III period old Sheffield plate candelabrum by the leading Birmingham industrialist /artist Matthew Boulton, in the form of neo classical athienne altars, with inset lion mask panels. In the early days of Boulton’s manufacturing he employed the leading artists of the day, including the architect Robert Adam, who is likely the author of this pattern. The borders lightly rose & excellent condition.

An English George IV period two part brass bound best mahogany campaign chest (for military campaign & travel) c 1830 . It is most unusual to find every drawer with the original stamped Bramah lock, the finest unpickable cabinet locks of the day.
Musket ball shot to second drawer front.
The address stamped to the locks of 124 Piccadilly St London & J. Bramah. Joseph Bramah died in 1814, the date of manufacture is therefore before 1837, after which the company was to incorporate a partner as Bramah & Robinson. Original dry waxed finish..
